  • Check the voltage at the Doorbell. This is typically ~2V less than at the transformer.
  • If you are not getting any voltage reading at the doorbell, then that means there is a disconnect or “short” somewhere in the wiring. This will need to be diagnosed by an electrician.

I changed my Internet provider and have a new Wi-Fi router and my cameras won’t connect any longer.2021-02-25T01:50:47+00:00

If you have a new Wi-Fi router you probably also have a new Wi-Fi name and password.  Since the cameras only have the old Wi-Fi information, they cannot connect to the new Wi-Fi.  To fix this issue, you must reset your camera using the reset button on the camera.  This will reset the camera back to factory defaults.  You will also need to delete the cameras from the SightHD app on your phone.  From there you just need to set the cameras up again as if they were new.

Do you have an antenna booster for my ALC SightHD Outdoor cameras?2021-02-25T01:49:56+00:00

ALC has a higher gain 5dbi antenna that is compatible with all ALC SightHD cameras that have an external antenna.  This longer antenna will boost the signal from the camera to the Wi-Fi router.  The antenna part number is ANT5DB.

https://www.alcwireless.com/product/ant5db/

We also have a 10 ft cable (CAB10F) that gives you the flexibility to move the antenna away from the camera and allow you to position the antenna in a better location to have a stronger signal to your router.  This cable works in conjunction with the 5dbi antenna.  This works especially well with metal buildings.  It allows you to position the antenna near a window or actually inside the building where the monitor is located.

The Observer system cannot use any other monitor to view the video from the cameras.  The included monitor with your system has all of the technology to communicate with the cameras and is the only way to display the Live view from your cameras.  The monitor does not have any video output port to plug it into another monitor.

An option would be to use a larger Android tablet or iPad to view the video from your cameras.  Just download the Observer app to the device and connect to the Observer system over Wi-Fi.
